Do you long to have a deeper relationship with the natural world? Hear the call to remember the wise ways of our ancestors? Sense the stirring in your soul to wake up to something beyond ordinary human reality? Feel the longing to connect more deeply to Life?
There is a path that satisfies the soul’s longing for connection. And it’s through the realm of the medicine plants.
The ancient wise ones are calling us to remember. You may have had dreams of them, or knowings. You may just have the sense that now is the time to do something different, something with deeper meaning.
I will lead you on this path of ancestral knowing, in community with other seekers, as a bridge to the plant world. Together we will work with our loving hands, an extension of our hearts, to transform the base plant material into abundant medicinal gold.
Hello! I’m Liz Neves, herbal educator and author of the upcoming book Northeast Medicinal Plants: Identify, Harvest, and Use 111 Wild Herbs for Health and Wellness (Timber Press, June 2020).
I’ll be your guide on this journey into the realm of healing plants.
“If you are curious about working with herbs, known and unknown, in familiar and also never thought of preparations, whether for your and your family’s health or comfort, whether as a hobby or a jumping of point for deeper study, this course is the best foundation I could imagine. Liz is a wonderful facilitator, well educated and studied, with a great sense of the sacred and a great sense of humor, giving of her time far beyond the classroom experience. Her reverence and delight in the experience is infectious and healing.”
In Herbal Medicine Craft, you will,
Deepen your relationship with healing plants and with the land where you live
Learn to use your intuition to discern the healing properties of specific plants
Craft your very own herbal apothecary for health, vitality, and beauty with organic fresh and dried herbs
Connect with plants on the spiritual level, learn how to harvest with integrity and sustainability, and identify wild plants common throughout the Northeast and beyond
Be part of a circle of loving, caring individuals
Our meetings will include meditation, ritual, song, a little movement, laughter, tears, and the unique experience and energy you bring to the circle.
This course is for a wide range of levels from absolute beginners to intermediate herbal students.
As part of the class you’ll receive my new book, Northeast Medicinal Plants: Identify, Gather, and Use 111 Wild Herbs for Health and Wellness (Timber Press, June 2020).
Most of the plants featured in the book grow wild from New Jersey and Pennsylvania north into southern Canada. And they reach beyond that, too. There is great overlap with plants growing in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states, as well as the UK and Ireland.
Some of the common herbs featured in the book include:
birch • burdock • catnip • chicory • comfrey
dandelion • hawthorn • Japanese knotweed
lemon balm • mint • mugwort • mullein
plantain • raspberry • red clover • rose
wild lettuce • yarrow • yellow dock
and many more!
These are the skills we need right now.
And the best place to be is connecting with the natural world!
“This is a beautiful and perfect class.”
“I am really glad I took this course. I felt I was able to deepen my relationship with herbs which is something I want to continue doing.”
“A wonderful hands-on class that gives a broad overview of many ways to practice herbalism with hands-on learning.”
