Ever have one of those days where your mind is scattered in 50 directions and nothing seems to help bring you to a point of focused attention? Sometimes all we need is a little help from our friends – our green allies, the plants. Buddhist monks drink tea (Camellia sinensis) to stay alert during long meditation sessions. Tibetan ascetics took nourishment from boiled nettles.
In this experiential workshop, you'll sample and learn how to prepare teas, herbal infusions, and smudging herbs to help calm and center your mind, body & soul on and off the cushion. We’ll also look at some of the ways plants have influenced notorious meditators and vice-versa. Class closes with a brief sitting meditation—no prior experience necessary.
